How we can help

Putting together an action or event? Re:Action is here to help!

Here are some of the ways that we can support your work and what we’d need to make it happen.

But remember, the most exciting things that we do really don’t fit on a rate card (as hard as we try, we can’t find the right place to put ‘load up a GoGo band on a flatbed truck and roll it to the Postmaster General’s house the night before he’s scheduled to testify before Congress on this page). Have a bold idea… or looking for bold ideas? Get in touch and let’s talk about how we can make it happen!

The cost amounts listed below are NOT guaranteed quotes. In social movement work, every project is unique and costs can vary dramatically based on a range of factors including, the amount of time needed to prepare, the amount of notice we have, staffing needs, time needed to coordinate with partner organizations, and scheduling conflicts. But sometimes it’s also great to get a ballpark of what something would cost to pull off to help with your campaign planning and budgeting (and figure out whether or not your boss will laugh you out of the room for proposing something!).

Want to know if we’re available and get a full quote? Shoot us an email and let’s have a conversation!

Rally / March / Event Production

Planning a rally or a live event? We can help you find a location and secure permits (check out our guide to planning actions in DC with a whole trove of information on jurisdictions and the permitting process); provide staging and site infrastructure (backdrop stands, tents, tables, chairs); and provide sound amplification to make sure that everyone can hear you!

Permitting and Site Selection

We can usually do this at no cost, but if picking a site is going to require multiple site visits or extensive coordination we may need to charge at an hourly rate.

Staging and Site Support

For most events we can provide a small (6’x9’, 18” tall) stage with a podium and pipe and drape to hang your backdrop or banner for $500 - $750.

If your event needs tents, tables and chairs we can bring along as much as we can fit in a truck (along with all the other gear) at no additional costs. If you need more site support material and we need to rent a box truck or bring additional vehicles we’ll have to provide you with a quote for those costs.

If you need a larger stage, an 8’x12’ stage (big enough for a panel discussion/several people seated along with a podium) starts at around $1,500 and a larger 16’x20’ stage (big enough for a full band) will start at $2,000.

Sound

Our basic sound setup will include a mixer board, 4 wireless mics, 2 wired mics, a mult/press box (for media to get a clean audio feed), PA speakers appropriate for the size of the event and battery generators to power everything.

If you’re expecting up to 500 people at an outdoor event we can usually cover that for $750.

If you’re expecting more than 500 people but less than 1,500 people we can usually cover that for $1,500

If you’re expecting more than 1,500 people we’ll have to know more about what you’re planning to get you a quote.

We also have a couple great mobile sound carts, that are great for pop-up actions, marches, and other actions that don’t have a fixed location. It’s pretty much the same setup as our basic sound setup (wireless mics, mixer, battery power, PA speakers), but it’s on wheels. We can bring one of those out for $650.

Live Video

Live streaming is a great way to push your IRL actions onto social media and engage supporters and policy makers who were not able to attend in person. Most of our live streams are single camera streams with graphic overlays for a “starting soon” screen, lower thirds for speakers and an end screen.

As soon as the event is confirmed, we’ll provide you with a link to add your social media accounts to the stream. You can share that link with any partners you want to invite to cross post the stream to their social media accounts. When the stream goes live, it will go live on all the pages that have been linked.

Following the event we’ll upload raw footage of the action into a google folder as well as clips of each individual speaker.

Projection.

Want to shine a light on an injustice? Or have a message to share with a wide audience? We can use our 9,500 lumen projector to display your message on a building or other structure. With the projection mapping software, MadMapper, we can project from challenging angles and even put messages on multiple surfaces.

Big flat surfaces are best for projections, but we can often find creative ways to fit our messages onto all sorts of buildings. But remember that light goes through glass windows so we need to find surfaces without many windows.

If you’re not sure where you want to project, we’re always keeping our eyes out for great locations so we’d be happy to share some ideas with you.

We’re able to project on most buildings in DC for an hour for $1,000-$1,500.

Check out some of the projections we’ve done recently.

Wheat Pasting & Street Heat.

Want to get your message up around town and show some grassroots engagement on an issue? Wheat pasting posters is a great tool. We can provide coverage district-wide, in specific neighborhoods, or even around the bar or coffee shop a specific decision-maker hangs out.

We can generally get posters up for $3.50/poster (11”x17”) or $2/sticker (up to 4”x4”) with 3 days lead time. With a week of lead time we can get much larger 24”x36” posters up for $10/poster.

Bicycle Billboards.

Want to make sure that decision makers see your message? We can send out a pair of our bicycle billboards to circle the streets where your target audience is sure to see it. While larger billboard trucks aren’t allowed near the Capitol or on 17th St NW near the White House, our bicycle billboards can go just about anywhere. We can even park them right on the street in front of the House or Senate office buildings.

Our bike billboards have space for 4’x6’ of messaging. Once we print the billboard panels (~$250/bike) we can get them on the road for $500/bike for 3 hr blocks of time.
